This week we’ve been very lucky to receive a copy of Jess And The Pirate Hat, a gorgeous new book by Anna Luciano.
It’s a children’s picture book with a total of 29 pages and is A4 size. The book is full of bright, colourful illustrations by the talented Rachel Middleton. The pictures are absolutely gorgeous and really bring the story to life.

My son Cody loves picture books like this. The words are a good size and easy for young readers to read or for you to read together. The font is a funky pirate theme and some of the words are enlarged or upside down to fit in with the story. It’s great fun to read!

The blurb on the back of the book reads:
‘Bored one day, Jess finds her lost pirate hat and sails off to a magical land by the sea. Where the mermaids all have rainbow tails and pixies live up in the trees.
With the wind in her sails and a parrot called Pip, find out whether Jess’s magical adventure proves a hit……. ‘

As you can see it’s a rhyming book which I love. Plus, a pirate adventure is always a winner in this house! We really enjoyed this book and would recommend it for other young readers.
