David Gibb is a fun singer/songwriter who creates family music. He started off with a successful career on the UK folk music scene before being inspired by the strong children’s music movement in America.
Now he is working hard to bring high quality family friendly music to the UK.
David’s second album ‘Rolling Down The Road’ was released last week on 23rd August 2019. We were very lucky to receive a copy in advance of the release date to review. I was initially worried my kids wouldn’t like it as they’re so used to their favourites Ed Sheeran, Bruno Mars, Marshmello etc. Since having the CD on in the car though they have been singing along and we already have some favourite tracks. My particular favourite is ‘Long Green Grass’ which reminds me of the children’s story book ‘Going On A Bear Hunt’. We also really like ‘Wiggly Woo’ and ‘Sunflower’. It’s great to put some music on without worrying about whether the content is going to be suitable for kids. I also really love the gorgeous colourful artwork on the album cover by artist Linzie Hunter.
‘Rolling Down The Road’ is going to be accompanied by a live music stage show. This is launching in September 2019 and set to do a UK tour in Spring 2020. The show has been devised by David himself along with children’s author Michelle Robinson. It will be based upon the songs on the new album. There will be an opening run of the show at The Story Museum in Oxford, nice and local to us!

Disclaimer: we received a special edition album pack for the purpose of the review in advance of the public release. All words are that of my own.
