What’s On In The Oxfordshire Summer Holidays 2023

Schools out and the Oxfordshire summer holidays are upon us!! I can’t believe how fast this year has gone and that we’re here at the summer holidays already. I’m totally unprepared with an empty diary but thankfully there are lots of events taking place for us to enjoy. As always I will keep updating this list throughout the holidays as more events pop up. Have a great summer!

Week 1 22nd-30th July

  • FREE augmented reality trail at the Orchard Centre (Didcot) Friday 21st July – Friday 1st September. Scan the QR codes in the shop windows to complete different puzzles and challenges, all while learning some fascinating facts.
  • Didcot Garden Party launch11am-3pm at the Cornerstone Arts Centre (Didcot) on Saturday 22nd July. Bubble artist, performances, music and arts and crafts. FREE drop in session.
  • The Beach at Notcutts returns for another year Saturday 22nd July – Monday 28th August. Sessions are 11am-2pm and 2-5pm daily. Giant sandpit FREE to visit. Wristbands for unlimited fairground rides cost £7.99 per child.
  • Fairytale Farm Festival at Fairytale Farm Saturday 22nd July – Sunday 3rd September. Interactive storytelling, crafts, puppetry workshop, trail, challenges, ferret racing, alpaca walking and more. See website for more details here.
  • Millets Maize Maze is open 18th July – 3rd September. 3 maize mazes, woodland play areas, courtyard games, pedal go-karts, ride on tractor and more. More details and booking here.
  • The Hares of Harwell Trail Saturday 22nd – Sunday 30th July. Follow the trail around the village of Harwell to find all the handcrafted Hares. Maps available from Bobs Butchers or The Harwellian for £1.
  • Table tennis sessions at Ladygrove Park (Didcot) 10-11am and Great Western Drive Park (Didcot) 11:3-12:30pm on Monday 24th July. FREE drop in sessions.
  • Letcombe Brook Beasties 10-11am and 11-12pm on Tuesday 25th July. Learn to identify different species living by the brook. FREE but spaces limited so book in advance via Vale & Downland Museum.
  • Story time at Vale & Downland Museum 1pm on Tuesday 25th July. FREE drop in.
  • Drop in craft session at Vale & Downland Museum 10-12pm on Tuesday 25th July. £2.50 per child, no booking required.
  • FREE dance sessions in the Apple Room at Didcot District Community Centre on Wednesday 26th July. 2-3pm for 5-7 year olds, 3-4pm for 8-11 year olds. Drop in sessions, no need to book.
  • Skatepark sessions at Sutton Courtenay Skatepark 2-5pm on Thursday 27th July. FREE drop in session.
  • Drop in pottery making session at Vale & Downland Museum 10-12pm on Thursday 27th July. Have a go at making a clay pot or clay tile with air dry clay. £4 per child. No booking required.
  • Family Yoga 10-11am on Friday 28th July at Fleet Meadow Community Centre (Didcot). FREE drop in, no need to book.

Week 2 31st July-6th August
