This weekend in Oxfordshire we’re a bit spoiled for choice as there’s lots of great events taking place. Do you have any drawing or science fans in your household or perhaps Thomas & Friends is more your thing? There’s certainly enough to keep the whole family happy this week!

Saturday

  • Drawing workshop with Little Foxglove at the Oxford Etsy shop in Didcot Orchard Centre 10-2pm. Bring the kids to design a special picture for mum and then chose what item to have it printed on.

  • Table top and jumble sale at Island Farm Donkey Sanctuary 11am-2pm. Buyers entry 50p per person.
  • Day out with Thomas at Didcot Railway Centre. Join Thomas and Friends for unlimited rides up and down the line, meet the Fat Controller and take part in activities throughout the day. Booking highly recommended.
  • Drawing Mania at Vale & Downland Museum in Wantage 10:30-11:30am. Use items in the museum as inspiration for your drawings. Guidance and materials provided. Free drop-in session.
  • Super Science Saturday at the Oxford University Museum of Natural History 12-4pm. Meet scientists and explore the variety of life on the planet. Free drop-in.

Sunday

  • Day out with Thomas at Didcot Railway Centre. Join Thomas and Friends for unlimited rides up and down the line, meet the Fat Controller and take part in activities throughout the day. Booking highly recommended.
  • Scoop zero waste pop-up shop at Cornerstone Arts Centre 11am-3pm. Free entry.

Ongoing

  • Stanford In The Vale – The Hidden Past Revealed exhibition at Vale & Downland Museum in Wantage. The key findings and objects will be on display from fascinating excavations in the village.  Saturday 25th January – Wednesday 25th March 2020.  Entry is free but donations are welcome.
  • Narnia Exhibition at Dorchester Abbey.  Saturdays 10am-4pm and Sundays 2-4pm from 11th January until 8th March, plus 17th -21st February (half term week) 10am-4pm.  £5 per family (2 adults and up to 4 children) or £2 per individual.  Childrens’s craft workshops will be running on the Saturdays 1:30-3:30pm £2 per person
  • Humour In Times Of Conflict exhibition at the Soldiers Of Oxfordshire Museum. A look at how fun and humour kept soldiers and the people going during the war. 7th November 2019 – 15th March 2020.
  • Plague, Pus and Pills Exhibition at the Wallingford Museum 3rd March – 28th November 2020. Explore the fascinating history of Wallingford’s hospitals from medieval times to the present day. Adult entry to the museum is £5 which gives you a season ticket and accompanying children are free.
