Hogshaw Farm & Wildlife Park

Hogshaw Farm & Wildlife Park was previously known as Green Dragon Rare Breeds & Eco Farm Centre and is based in Buckinghamshire. They have a whole host of amazing rare breed farm animals to meet including many who are on the ‘at risk’ register. There are lots of breeds I have never seen before. The sheep with the curly horns are one of my favourites. You can normally see them out in the paddocks.

The pygmy goat walk-through area is really good fun. The little pygmy goats have such funny personalities and are naturally very curious. It’s lovely to be able to get up close to them.

You can enjoy grooming a pony or donkey at Hogshaw Farm which is a lovely experience for kids. There are other animal encounters available too if you want a private experience.

We also really enjoy hand feeding the goats in the animal barn. You can buy a bag of food for them at the entrance.

Hogshaw Farm isn’t just about farm animals. They have a fantastic Wildlife area too with some incredible animals. My absolute favourites are the silver foxes. They are just stunning and I have never seen them anywhere else before. The reindeer herd are also a lovely sight to see. Some of their antlers are huge!

Alongside the silver foxes and reindeer there are also wallabies, lynx, Scottish Wildcats and birds of prey. There is a bird of prey demonstration which is worth going along to. You’ll get to see some of the birds fly and learn more about them. It’s included in the price of your visit but you must book as space is limited.

Another animal area to explore is the Creature Corner. There are all sorts of weird and wonderful things including snakes, frogs, cockroaches, chameleon and more.

Indoors there is a large soft play barn which is a great place for the kids to let off steam. You’ll also find a cafe with some drinks and snacks available and often there’s a craft activity too.

Outside we love racing the pedal karts around the track! If you leave this until the end of the day you’ll often have them to yourselves! My kids will happily spend hours on these!

We also love the adventure playground, under 5s play area and jumping pillow. Furthermore, the large sand pit has some fun sit-on diggers which Baby Bear really enjoys. During the warmer months there is a splash pool too!

By the time you have looked around all the animals and had a good play, you can easily spend all day here. We take a picnic with us to keep costs low. Occasionally we treat ourselves to an ice cream from the cafe. It’s certainly well worth a visit to Hogshaw Farm & Wildlife Park for all the family.
