CAPCOM GO! A Planetarium Film Experience

CAPCOM GO planetarium film

We were very excited to be invited to see the world premiere of CAPCOM GO! at the National Space Centre in Leicester at the weekend.   The film was played in the planetarium which is the largest one of its kind the whole of the UK.  To be the very first members of the public to see it before it gets shipped out worldwide this week was awesome!

CAPCOM GO! tells us all about the Apollo missions and just how much is involved in getting humans in to outer space, let alone on the moon!  Watching it was incredible and we learned so much about the complexities involved.  When you watch a film in a planetarium its an experience like no other.  The screen engulfs everything around you and makes you feel like you are a part of the film.  It’s quite a strange yet exciting experience!

CAPCOM GO! has been produced by NSC Creative who are actually based at the National Space Centre.  They are one of the world’s leading planetarium show producers and currently have films in over 600 venues worldwide.  That’s quite an achievement!  They decided the best way to celebrate 50 years since the Apollo 11 moon landing was to make a film about it.  CAPCOM GO! offers a fascinating insight into the work that went into the moon landings in a way that I’ve never seen before and I’m sure will stay with us for a long time.  I really hope it inspires the next generation of scientists, designers, astronauts, etc of the future.

The new show launches a whole host of events to enjoy over the Easter holidays at the National Space Centre.  You can enjoy some amazing ‘explosive’ live shows, build and land your own lunar module or construct a moon orbiter.
