Galway Guest House In Weymouth – Ideal For Families!

Weymouth beach from the top of the tower

As a family of 5 we often find that we are incredibly limited with places to stay when we go away.  Most B&Bs or hotels offer rooms for up to 4 people and the cost of booking 2 separate rooms to accommodate the 5 of us just gets silly.  When we searched for accommodation in Weymouth last Easter we thought we were out of luck.  Then we came across the Galway Guest House.

The Galway Guest House has a large family room which can accommodate up to 6 people.  Not only that but the room has an amazing castle themed 4 man bunk bed.  There are 2 beds either side at the top and two at the bottom.  Each bed has its own light on the wall beside it.  The stairs are wide and made of wood so its super easy to climb up and down.  My kids thought it was amazing!castle bunk bed at Galway Guest House

The room also has a double bed for the grown ups.  It was so comfy and I had the best night’s sleep.  I also loved the window view print on the wall above the bed.

My favourite thing about the family room is the window seat overlooking the street below.  I loved to sit there and read while the kids were sleeping or watch the world go by.  The table and chairs were really handy too.

The room has an en-suite bathroom with a decent shower.  Just what we needed after being on the beach for a few hours.  It isn’t huge but had everything we needed for the 2 nights we stayed.

The owners Lyn and Dave made us feel so welcome.  They have lived there for years and are full of knowledge of the area.  They also make a cracking breakfast in the morning which is served in the guest dining room.

Anything you need they are happy to help.  There is also private car parking at the rear of the B&B so no need to worry about finding parking on the street.  The Galway Guest House is located just over the harbour bridge, only  a 10 minute walk from the beach.  It’s close enough to access everything you need but away from the main busy stretch on the seafront.

The Galway Guest House isn’t a 5 star hotel but it’s a lovely little family run place that has everything you could need.  It was perfect for my family and the castle bunk beds were a huge bonus.  We will definitely stay there again in the future.
