During the Summer holidays we visited 4 Kingdoms Adventure Park for the first time in about 4 years and it reminded me just how much we love this place! It really has got just about everything you could possibly wish for to keep the kids entertained. The real beauty of it is that once you pay your entry fee, everything is included. No forking out extra for tractor rides or whatever, it’s all included in your ticket. Hurrah!
Indoors the kids spent ages climbing around the huge soft play frame which has multiple levels to explore. They loved racing each other down the wavy slide but weren’t quite brave enough for the drop slides! Baby Bear who is 4 was able to manage climbing around the play frame on his own so I was able to sit back and watch. There are loads and loads of sofas and tables and chairs for parents to sit and relax while the kids play.
The soft play barn leads to the laser tag arena which we absolutely loved! Up to 14 players can take part in each game which lasts around 10 minutes. We had a great time running around shooting at each other and the other players. The kids were incredibly impressed when we checked our scores at the end and discovered I had won the battle! Definitely got myself some ‘cool Mum’ brownie points! I would recommend the laser tag is suitable for kids aged 4 upwards.
Also connected to the soft play barn is the animal petting barn. We didn’t get round to visiting it on this occasion but we have done previously and enjoyed meeting all the animals. There are various feeding and ‘meet’ the animals sessions throughout the day. We have also groomed Shetland ponies here in the past!
Outside we first came across another huge playframe. This one is very high up but completely enclosed and safe for kids to run around. They love the feeling of being up so high! There are slides to come back down to ground level.
There are various different play areas at 4 Kingdoms. One of our favourites is the donut slide. You go down the slide on giant rubber rings. It’s great fun! Some of the larger rings are suitable for an adult and small child to ride together, which is great for little ones. Next to it are the pedal karts which we also really enjoy.
Our absolute FAVOURITE thing at 4 Kingdoms and the newest addition to the park is the Dinosaur Kingdom. This is a fantastic area. The Dino Jeeps is probably one of the best children’s immersive experience rides I’ve ever come across. The effort that has gone into this area is insane. We went on it 4 times throughout the day as we loved it so much! You get to drive your jeep along a trail through water and across bridges, meeting lots of different dinosaurs along the way. Grown ups can sit on the back of the jeeps to help young children operate them. The ride lasts around 10 minutes.
Next to Dinosaur Kingdom is the Locomotive train ride. We love a train ride and there are several miniature ones here at 4 Kingdoms. The tractor trailer ride is also right next to it.
During the Summer months there is a large paddling pool and beach open at 4 Kingdoms. At regular intervals throughout the day they have a foam party in the paddling pool! Definitely worth taking swim gear if you are visiting in July or August. We didn’t take ours so played on the giant bounce pillows next to it instead.
After jumping around on the pillows we played a game of miniature golf. It got very competitive! Miniature golf is included in your entry fee. You can find clubs and golf balls at the first tee.
Other areas to enjoy at 4 Kingdoms include the safari jeeps, safari train, dolphin boats, ball court, play frames and more. There is literally so much you can very easily spend all day here. There are plenty of picnic tables and you are welcome to take your own food. Alternatively the cafe has a good sized menu of hot and cold snacks and meals. They have paninis, jacket potatoes, fries, nachos, burgers and more. There are several vegetarian options available. It all looked reasonably priced from what I saw.
We had an absolute blast at 4 Kingdoms and will certainly be going back again. For the amount that’s included and it being a full day out I think it’s well worth the money. It’s good to keep an eye on their Facebook page as well as they often have special deals. I managed to get our 4 tickets for £40 in March and they could be used any time until the end of October. Have a look at the events before you book as they have regular character visits and special themed days too. In fact I am seriously considering booking their Christmas event as I’ve heard lots of good things about it.
