What’s On In Oxfordshire May Half Term 2022

Well guess who got her weeks muddled and forgot to do the whats on listing? Better late than never, right?! There’s loads going on over half term week thanks to the Jubilee. We really are spoiled for choice! Here’s what’s on in Oxfordshire, have a wonderful time however you are celebrating the Jubilee.

Saturday 28th May

  • Island Farm Donkey Sanctuary Country Show 10am-5pm. Dog agility and fun dog show, animals, children’s activities, entertainment, vintage vehicles and machinery, donkey parade and more. £5 for adults, £3 for children/OAPs, under 5s FREE.
  • Rainbow colours for Elmer day at Didcot Library 1:30pm. Story time and yoga session. No need to book.
  • Taste of Thame 10am-4pm. Follow the food trail around the town centre, raffle for Thame Food Bank, street food market, food demonstrations and more.
  • Science Oxford family day. Explore indoors and outdoors with experiments, water play and more. Book online. Tickets £6 each.

Sunday 29th May

Wednesday 1st June

  • Half Term pizza party at the Ladygrove Generous George 11-1pm. Kids can make their own pizzas. £7.75 per child. Book in advance as spaces limited.
  • Meet the Marvellous Monarchs at Vale and Downland Museum in Wantage 10am-3:30pm. Costumed re-enactors, royal crafts, photo booth, corgi gallery trail and more. FREE admission but tickets must be booked in advance as space limited.

Thursday 2nd June

  • Queen’s Platinum Jubilee party at Didcot Civic Hall 11am-7pm. Bouncy castle, food van, sand pit, bubbles, kids crafts, stalls, ice cream, music, performances and more. Free entry (some activities have a small fee).
  • Open Air Cinema at DISH (Harwell) Guardians Of The Galaxy 9:30pm.
  • Kids arts and crafts with paper chain making to decorate the pub for the Jubilee. 12-2pm at The Ladygrove Generous George.

Friday 3rd June

  • Viking and Saxon living history camp a Harwell Recreation Ground 12-5pm. From 2-2:30pm children can take part in a battle re-enactment too! Free entry.
  • A Right Royal Knees Up 1pm-11pm at Boundary Park, Didcot. Bar, charity fun run, music throughout the decades, fun fair, inflatables, circus workshop, disco and much more. FREE entry.
  • Queen’s Jubilee Tea Party at The Marlborough in Didcot 12pm. Afternoon tea with live music from duo Now And Then, old fashioned sports day races, stalls and more.
  • Platinum Jubilee Party at Wallingford Sports Park 2pm onwards. Walking hockey, tennis, petanque, skittles, rounders and more. BBQ and bar open.
  • Benson Village Jubilee celebrations at the village hall and recreation ground 10am-4pm. Go-karts, bouncy castle, face painting, football derby, nature trail, make a crown, raffle and more. FREE

Saturday 4th June

  • Harwell Feast 11am – 5pm at Harwell recreation Ground. Dog show, stalls, games, performances, Vikings living history area, kid’s activities and more. Entry £3 for adults, kids FREE.
  • Platinum Jubilee party 1-3pm at Didcot Library car park. FREE tea, cake and activities including chalk art, biscuit decorating, competitions and more.
  • Grove and Wantage Extravanganza at Grove RFC 1 onwards. Dog show, fire fighter demonstrations, dance school performances, circus workshops, street party with Punch and Judy show, live music and more!
  • Oxford Pride Day 12-1pm parade from Radcliffe Square. 12-6pm family zone at County Hall with face painting, arts and crafts and more.

Sunday 5th June

  • Queen’s Jubilee Family Fun Day at the Marlborough Club in Didcot 2pm onwards. BBQ, bar, bouncy castles, glitter tattoos, stalls, etc. FREE entry.
  • Decorate your own crown at The Ladygrove Generous George 12-2pm.

Ongoing Events

  • East Hagbourne ’70 Glorious Years’ scarecrow trail 28th May – 19th June. Maps are £1 from the community shop or the Fleur De Lys pub.
  • Chilton Jubilee scarecrow trail 30th May – 5th June. Maps are £1 from Chilton Garden Centre
  • John Lawson Circus at Millets Farm 29th May – 4th June. Daily performances at 10:30am, 12:30pm and 2:30pm. Tickets £8.99 per person, under 2s FREE.
