The Oxfordshire Easter holidays are going to be a bit different this year. Some outdoor venues are opening in the 2nd week of the holidays (from 12 April) but indoor venues will remain closed. All is not lost though as there are still a few Spring events to enjoy.
Little Pippins Easter Egg hunt (Harwell)
Little Pippins preschool in Harwell are hosting an Easter egg hunt on Saturday 3rd April between 1-4pm. Explore the village to find out what the Easter bunny has been up to. Maps and question sheets are £1 and can be bought from Little Pippins on the day. Return your completed question sheet to win a chocolate egg at the end!
Didcot Railway Centre
Didcot Railway Centre are holding open air steam railway days at weekends and on Wednesdays from 14th April. Train rides will be available in vintage carriages with their own individual compartments so each group has their own individual space. Outdoor displays and photo opportunities will be set up including various trains and a locomotive on the turntable. Numbers will be limited and you get 20% off when you book in advance online.
Alice In Wonderland themed Easter event at Fairytale Farm 12th-18th April. Meet Alice and watch her sing at the Mad Hatter’s tea party, see the interactive Easter display and pet the real life rabbits and guinea pigs. Limited numbers and one way system will be in place.
Willowcroft School Easter Trail (Didcot)
Willowcroft School are hosting an Easter trail from 1st-18th April. Buy your map for £1 from Croft Stores in Didcot (OX11 8HR) and find all the letters hidden in the decorated windows. Once you’ve found all the letters, work out the phrase and hand your completed map back in at Croft Stores to be in with a chance of winning an Easter hamper. All proceeds raised will go directly to the school.
Drayton Village Scarecrow Trail
The Drayton village Scarecrow Trail is taking place from Friday 2nd April – Sunday 18th April with a television and film theme. Maps can be bought for £1 from Mace shop in the village and all funds go to the Friends Of Drayton School Association. Vote for your favourite scarecrow and return your completed entry form to Vickery’s for the chance to win a £30 book voucher.
Cogges Manor Farm
Cogges Manor Farm is currently open to season ticket holders only but will be opening to the public from 12th April. Farmyard, garden, meadows and children’s play areas will all be available with plenty of outdoor seating too. The cafe will be open for take away service. All other indoor areas closed.
GWP Easter Trail (Didcot)

Cholsey Easter Bunny Hunt
Cholsey Preschool are hosting an Easter bunny hunt around the village from Friday 2nd – Sunday 18th April. The bunnies have escaped and are hiding in the windows around Cholsey! Hop around the village to see how many you can find. Use your map to explore the village then email how many bunnies you find to be in with a chance of winning a prize. Farmer Gows Easter Eggstravaganza
Farmer Gows Easter event from 12th – 18th April includes meet the animals, feeding the lambs, giant hay bale treasure hunt, quizzes, trails and more. Book online (no payments will be processed until the Government has confirmed they can go ahead with opening).
Millets Farm Falconry Centre
Millets Farm Falconry Centre is re-opening from 12th April for visitors to the centre and handling experiences.

Strictly peaking Roves Farm isn’t in Oxfordshire, however it’s just over the border and well worth a visit. From 1st-18th April they will have an Easter trail around the animal paddocks. Answer the spring quiz questions to work out the magic word, then track down the Easter Bunny and see if you have the right answer to collect a prize. Take away and farm shop will be open, all other areas closed. Tickets must be booked in advance online.
Harwellian Easter Egg Hunt
Easter egg hunt sheets available from the Harwellian Club in Harwell during cafe opening hours (11am-3pm weekends only and Bank Holiday Monday). £1 per sheet (members free). Chocolate prize once you’ve completed your sheet. Trail running 2nd – 11th April.
